Today I find myself ruminating over the question why? Some people, no matter your tone when you ask them or how you phrase a question will always answer your inquiry with the question why?

Answering a question with a question asserts that not only do you not immediately know the answer but you’re not at all willing to spend any effort to think about the question long enough to come up with anything.

For example, there are several people in my world who respond to a question such as ‘what time is it‘ with the word why?

So how then should I reply to their question why? For years I did. For years I tried to find a viable answer to that question. Needless to say it was futile.

Recently now that I’m at the tail end of my healing process I have arrived at a place where I am compelled to answer the question which prompted the question why with another question. What else can I say to that question but ‘why not’.

It’s going to take me some time before I will find the logic that can be applied to this nonsense. All I can say right now is that it just doesn’t make any sense.

I hear you,
